[He doesn't know the voice feature of the communication has turned on. Actually, since he and Heiji went off to investigate, Adam hasn't noticed the little things unless needed to.]

I knew there were risks when I decided to join with you and the other Rangers but being on a world where there's practically no rules is something I wasn't prepared for. Kinda funny isn't it? [He laughs but there's no joy, rather, it was hollow.] We've fought aliens and monsters and even dopplegangers-


[He freezes and sighs.]


They're not like the ones we've dealt with before...I think the ones here have killed several people. It could be more from what I've been hearing all over.


I'm worried, Zordon.


[His mentor's been dead for nearly nine years but he still like all of Zordon's Chosen looked up to the sky and wanted his advice.]


I'm worried about what will happen...will it get to the point that we'll have to- [He stops and makes a 'tch' noise.]


No, he's not going to do it. He's still young. If anyone is going to stain their hands, I rather have it be myself. But only if they don't give me another choice.


[A pause.]


I don't know anymore Zordon...if it happens...will I become like the monsters I used to fight?




[Then the feed shuts off.]

[Heiji finally came back, that little search didn't end well. there wasn't much of anything anywhere besides the obvious. Those animals that attack them, they were the least of their concerns. There didn't seem to be any now either.

He caught onto the fact that Adam had been talking to himself. He must have been reflecting- but still. He walked over.]

[He was glad that the boy came back but he hoped that he didn't hear what he said earlier. There was enough on his plates with his friends being replaced and everything.]

No. Nothin' stood out or was potentially relevant ta what I'm looking fer. [He used the term relevant loosely. He knew if he looked too hard he wouldn't find it.]

[He's not gonna stop asking that until he got what he wanted, was he? But why his hand? He's never pictured Heiji as that type of person. Was it some kind of experiment like earlier? After a couple of moments, Adam held out one of his hands. Questioning was not an option because he got the feeling that he was going to find out soon.]

It's nothing. Just worried about everything going on right now. I've been hearing things about how some people are acting...strange.

And if our friends aren't alive, the only thing to do is bring them to the scientists to get them back. It's a hostage mission. Save the mercy for those who didn't ask to get replaced.

All I want to know is why.

[Hearing about how the scientists can revive people makes Adam a bit more angrier than before; if there's one thing he can't stand is others who toy with people's lives like it's nothing. Thankfully, it's not heard in his voice.]

It's not like I can condone what they've done. If someone close to me was in that situation...

[He wanted to say 'I'd kill the fake no questions asked' but that meant lying to himself. Killing monsters was different than killing something with a human face, which he had never done.]

These doppelgangers are also like many things I've fought before, but I'm still unsure of what their capabilities are. If you ever have your heart set on trying to take one of them down, be sure to bring a friend as backup. You never know, the doppelgangers might decide to make you a target instead, but if there's someone with you, that might ruin that plan.

I've befriended many rangers in my time, but each world is a bit different when it comes to rangers. Would you mind telling me about the rangers you joined with, regardless of me not having supposed to have heard about it?

Also, I find it's usually for the best not to let on that you know someone is a doppelganger unless you want them on the run. Luring them into a false sense of security by making them think you believe them is far, far, more effective.
