1st Morph [Video]

[The screen turns on as the face of a man in his late twenties appears. He is of Asian descent with short black hair and dark brown eyes with a look of confusion etched on his face. The man breaths deeply as he studies the area he is currently in, holding the screen up to reveal a few buildings but not enough to pinpoint his location.]

So I was right on how this thing works...looks like the DS systems back home. This is really a strange place. I can't even figure out how I got here. I haven't felt this bad since Rocky, Tommy, and I overdid on tequlia during college, minus the hangover.

[He looks at the screen again.]

So, there are no signs pointing out where I am but if anyone hears or sees this, I would like some answers. By the way, my name's Adam.

This is Discedo, and it's on Fortuna, and it's kind of a wreck so ya should help me fix it!

I tried to explain to someone already about the DS but I don't know if it helped. Simply, you play video games on it. As for tequila, it's strong alcohol.

[Is currently confused on what gender this person is; rather not mention it out loud.]

I got all that. But it just sounds so strange in your story.

It would really depend on you. I know my apartment building has no electricity, but there is heat and water. I'm not sure about other buildings. Whichever one has the necessities you need most, you should live there. Unless it holds no meaning to you.

Right now, I'm not being picky. Just a decent place to sleep is all I need. Is there a listing of the places here?

Here, let me send you a map. [Presses a panel in his neck, making a small door pop open and draws out a wire. Connects it to the communicator and proceeds to send the file.

Can you see the file being sent to you on screen? I think this is my first time sending files since fixing that glitch.

[THIS IS NORMAL, ADAM.]

[He looks surprised at Gakupo's method but only for a minute as he looks at the file loading on the screen.]

[If he had been from a better time, China would have given his name first, but that wasn't going to happen now.]

It's Adam. What's yours? [Notices the lake.] Hey, I didn't notice that when I arrived. Maybe we can help each other out since we're new here and all.

My name is Wang Yao.

Hm? [He looks over his shoulder and then back to the gear.] Oh, the lake? I heard the sound of flowing water, so I came here, aru. It's been some time since I've had fresh water to drink.

I don't see why not. [Actually, he did. Then again, China was strong, if this man should try to do any harm, he could combat with him.] Besides, I've been hearing some strange noises and they don't sound human, aru.

Strange noises are definately not a good sign; I blame all the monster sightings as a kid. I'm heading over your way right now. [He's thankful that he got a map of the area otherwise he'd be more lost.]

Oh? You've seen monsters as a child too, aru?

R-Right.

Let's just say that where I'm from was one of the first places monsters like to screw with people. And they were weird.

[The feed stays on as Adam is trying to find the lake where Yao is. He's thankful that Gakupo sent him a copy of the map so he doesn't get more lost. As he gets closer to his destination, he calls out the man's name.]

Yao?

I understand, aru. When I was a child, I didn't have contact with monsters exactly, more like with spirits.

[China hears Adam calling him so he follows the voice until he sees the other in the distance.]

I'm here, aru! [He waves a hand.]

Phew, thank God. [Adam runs over and sighs in relief: no monsters is good in his book.] We should try and find a place to get some rest. I thought I saw an apartment building on the way here.

[China nods.]

I saw one too, aru. I think I walked past the Marshall apartments not too long ago, so those might be the closest ones.

Then let's head there then. [Adam hopes no monsters will try to attack them. So off to the closest apartments to snooze in!]

[As they're walking, perhaps now would be a good time for friendly conversation.]

What country are you from, anyway, Adam?

Me? I'm from America, more specfically California. What about you? [Friendly conversation is good. A friend in a place like this is even better.]

Ah, California... [He's heard that many people from Oklahoma were flocking there lately.]

Me? I'm from China, aru.

Yeah, it's nice there once people stop focusing on how everyone is a celebrity, rich or surf junkies. [And the monsters. Cant forget them. That and every Ranger team was found in the state. Adam had to wonder if they would go to Montana or something. Well, it was something to ask for another time.]

So, what kind of things did you do back home? Hobby wise I mean.

Well, I haven't had much time for my hobbies lately, aru. I'm... My country is at war with the Empire of Japan.

[Adam was about to explain what 'surf junkies' were until Yao mentioned about being at war with Japan. He blinked then turned to face the Chinese man.]

[Why does everyone he meet keep asking that question?]

[Oh boy, this was going to be a bit hard to explain. Adam knew a few time travelers, even worked with one recently but wasn't sure if he should say anything. I mean time paradoxes were pretty hard to swallow and would Yao believe him about being from seventy years into the future? Thankfully, the Marshall building could be seen now and Adam confirmed it on the map.]

I think this is Marshall if I'm reading this right...

Oh? Where did you get that map?

[He looks down at it curiously. He didn't remember getting one upon his arrival.]

Someone sent it to me earlier; I asked if there were any places to sleep and he sent me this. [Points to the map on the screen.] That's how I was able to find the lake.

Ah. The technology here is amazing, aru! Do you think you could send me one of those too?

[He looks up at the Marshall building. He adjusts the strap of his messenger bag on his shoulder.]

Well, no use standing out here, aru. Let's check it out.

Sure, lemme see here...[He is pushing buttons and staring at the screen.] I think I got it. See anything on your screen?

[He nods and follows Yao into Marshall.]

Hang on. [China presses at the buttons experimentally until the map shows up on his screen. He smiles a little.] Yes, it's there, aru. [He bows his head.] Xie xie.

[China pokes his head in first to make sure there's nothing else in the building. He enters all the way when he doesn't see or hear anything.]

It doesn't look like anyone's lived here for years, aru.
