They exist in my world, most just decide to think their fairy tales. I'm not one of them.
[He sighs again as his finger appears again and makes the frog outline once more. When he stopped, he pushed two fingers slightly as if he were making the non-existant reptile move. Now he starts telling his story.]
There's many types of guardians back home but this is a story about one small creature. In the beginning, there were six guardians who protected the people from evil: the red ape, the yellow bear, the blue wolf, the pink crane, the white falcon, and the black frog.
[He draws an outline of each creature as he speaks.]
They were fierce in battle and able to defeat their foes with their gifts and were happy to be helpful to the people, who praised them. However, the Frog felt like he wasn't good enough for his team: the Crane and Falcon could move gracefully and swift while the Bear, Ape, and Wolf had massive strength to stop foes where they stood. What chance did a small animal like him have against the enemy?
One day as the Frog was watching some children play, a golden monkey, an old enemy, came to him and ambushed the guardian into a battle. Knowing the Frog was doubting himself, the Monkey used a mirror to amplify the Frog's self doubt and made him weaker, showing him painful memories where he couldn't protect anyone.
The mirror had a strong hold on the reptile but it was one memory that stood out for him: a little boy coming up to say hello and invited the Frog to join in a game. That memory was the saving grace and he broke free of the mirror's influence and defeated the Monkey.
[There's a pause afterwards. SORRY FOR THE LONG REPLY.]
That's all I really remember right now. Sorry it's not a good one like yours.
